This is a pretty nice restaurant with a surf and turf menu. The food is good and also includes an unlimited salad bar. But food is not the reason I go there. It's the salsa dancing! They have live bands Thursday through Sunday. Even if you don't dance salsa, it's amazing to watch the pros doing their stuff. Several of the local salsa classes meet here for their practice lesson. Fun! PS: If you want to people watch instead of dance, I recommend you cradle a drink and act drunk. Otherwise, someone invariably will come and ask you to dance.

Kitchy, but worth it, the Cooperage is a fine "old style" steak house. It's an unbelievably good value, as well! The sheer volume of food that's included in the dinner price is astounding. (In a good way!) If I remember correctly, included in the price of a dinner entree (i.e. steak) is the salad bar, soup, potato, and bread service. And the entrees are good! The steak and prime rib that I've had were delicious and well prepared. The interior is round (like a barrel! cooperage! hah! get it?!?) and that actually does lend to a sense of privacy. You don't see a big, empty room full of tables, so you won't necessarily know whether the house is busy or not while you're there. I remember that a lot of the lights had wrought iron and amber glass shades that looked like something STRAIGHT out of 1980. Pretty retro, but not in an ironic or run down way. Just unchanged by the passage of time. The soup and salad bar is plentiful ... though some of the items included are Jello and suspiciously ambrosia-like substances. The decor clearly hasn't been updated in a my lifetime. It's the kind of place my dad and granddad would really, really like. The tableware reminds me of what Denny's used to carry when I was in high school. The service is pretty good (attentive, quick with refills, good with special requests). The prices are exceptionally modest and the food is plentiful. Overall, I think the Cooperage is an exceptional value and I look forward to my next visit!
