Sandia Chiropractic is owned and operated by Dr. Gretchen Peterson, referred to by her clients as “Dr. Gretchen.” Dr. Gretchen began her practice in 1989, and opened Sandia Chiropractic in 1990. Dr. Gretchen believes in treating each patient as a "whole person," not simply manipulating the spine. She may prepare you for treatment with muscle work, electro-therapy, ultrasound, intersegmental traction, and/or hot or cold packs. These adjunctive therapies (see below) may be performed before or afterwards to further address associated muscle conditions, resulting in a more complete and effective overall treatment. Every member of the family is treated at Sandia: babies, children, pregnant women young adults, adults, and grandparents; each with their special set of conditions. This total care concept relieves pain, promotes healing, allows for normal growth and encourages health and Auto accidents and on-the-job injuries often bring someone in for treatment, but the daily stress of work and lifestyle are also addressed. Dr. Gretchen will work with you to evaluate your habits, discuss possible dietary and nutritional needs, and coach you through home stretching and strengthening exercises to rehabilitate your neuro-musculoskeletal system. "The spine is the 'core' or stem of the human body, and every action we take revolves and balances around that core. When the core is stressed or out of alignment, it can affect any and all parts of the body." As a former gymnast, Dr. Gretchen is also attuned to the needs of patients with sports injuries. |
